You are planning your cheap holidays In Slovenia and do not know where to visit first? The first place to see is Ljubljana, which has many different attractions that will amaze you. The Metalkova and the Vodnik Square are two popular neighborhoods with a bit of history all its own. If you are into walking more, visit the Ljubljana Castle. You will see the architecture of ancient times that is unbelievable to look at and study. You will find that this area has many different things to see and do. The Dragon Bridge is something to see. You cannot imagine the effort that went into making this bridge.

The Modern Gallery is an art museum that you just have to see. It has some of the finest pieces of artwork around. A favorite and popular place to sit and relax is by the Fountain of Three Carniolan Rivers. A relaxing, soothing sound comes from the fountain. If you are looking something to do with scenery, the Cankerjevo Nabrezie is a great walking area with a scenic view you will want to take some pictures of before you leave. Your cheap holidays to Slovenia might take you to another city called Bled.

Bled is a smaller town with so much to offer. The Bled Castle is something to see with its ancient architecture and historical nature. The walking trail with a view of the waterfall and points of interest are located in Vintgar Gorge. This area is just beautiful to see and explore. Some people just keep coming back for more. If you want to see a church that looks like it is floating on the lake, you need to see the Church of the Assumption. This is an amazing picture to see. Next, you might make a stop in Radovjica to see the Beekeeping Museum. This museum is unique and quite different from any other museum you have every seen.

Next, you can move on to Postojna to see the caves. This attraction will leave you amazed when you see the inside of the caves and wonder how hard it is to preserve the ancient caves that once where home too many in hiding. The Prediama Castle is under a rock overhang and you would think, the rock could crack and fall right down on top of the castle. It is truly amazing to see. After all this traveling and sightseeing, you might want to enjoy a day of golf or take a day to relax by the poolside.

Your cheap holidays in Slovenia will not complete until you enjoy at least one night out on the on the town. There are some very nice bars and cafes to have a few drinks and see how the residents end the day. The night does linger into the wee morning hours, but it is a great time seeing how everyone enjoys the end of the day. You will want to take a midnight walk around the hotel to see the beautiful lights of the city. It is a great place to spend a holiday.

Situated along the Ljubljana Basin, Ljubljana, with a population of 270 thousand, is both the capital of Slovenia’s and its cultural, administrative and business centre. Formerly known as Laibach, Ljubljana is the youngest capital on the Continent.

It is divided by the Ljubljanica River, with the old parts of the city, and the castle overlooking it, located on the right bank.

A favourite meeting place for the young, Prešeren Square is the most lively square in the city; its most prominent feature is the Baroque style, Franciscan church dating from the 17th century. A three-lane wide arch-bridge, made of stones – the Tromostovje – connects the Square to the cathedral on the opposite side of the Ljubljanica River.

The Town-Hall and the area in front of it is the most striking part of the city; it acquired its current character during the 18th century.
The castle is one of Ljubljana’s main tourist attractions, providing an all-round panorama of the city and its environs.

Situated in the North West of Slovenia, Lake Bled is a picture-perfect tourist attraction. Both the idyllic lake, and the solitary island in its midst, possess a tranquil loveliness that have to be seen to be appreciated. The majestic mountain peaks that ring the lake and add a sense of reclusion to Bled create a feeling of serenity. The beauty of the place can only be complimented by Bled Castle, towering above the town. Bled is one of Slovenia’s most popular tourist attractions, and its appeal is not hard to decipher. The splendour of Bled can be both natural and man-made; the rustic church located on the island can be seen as the jewel in Bled’s crown. Whilst it may be hard to leave the scenic centre of Bled, the countryside surrounding the town has its own charms.

Whilst tempting merely to sit back and enjoy the heavenly surroundings, Bled can offer a wide range of activities. From golfing to riding, climbing, cycling, and more, Bled will keep any tourist amused whilst besieged by Paradise. In winter, a snow-covered Bled possesses an almost magical beauty. Whilst snow will lend a charming note to any scene, in Lake Bled the effect is sublime. Winter sports make up a large part of the tourist trade, with cross-country skiing a speciality. Alpine skiing is less popular but still possible, with the ski slope at Straža only a short walk away from Bled’s centre.

Bled’s unique appeal reaches beyond its sights and attractions. Coachmen called ‘Fijaker’ can take the tourist for rides around the town and up to the castle. These add to the tranquil, old-fashioned, charm of the place and help create an image of a destination that will never fade. Boat trips to the island can be done independently and inexpensively; they lack the charm of the ‘Pletna’. This traditional Bled boat will stop for half an hour – long enough to see the church and splash around in the clear water. One last symbol of Bled is its cream cake recipe, the finest in Slovenia. A crisp, golden, crust made from butter dough, vanilla cream inside and topped with freshly whipped cream and another layer of butter dough is enough to tempt any hungry tourist.
